A modest, family-run place. The food and service are very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it. The roast kid and the veal are superb.

It is a restaurant from the NORTH that is very proud of, with home-made food, made with home-made products of very good quality. A family restaurant with a lot of typical friendliness from the NORTH. It has a beautiful terrace overlooking the Douro River, but in cold weather it has indoor dining. I loved it and we will always go back. I don't know if this will be of interest to anyone, but our President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa ate there in April 2017 and loved the stew in the Douro style, made entirely with home-made products. Here are the photos to prove it. It is located in Rio Mau, in the municipality of Penafiel, where there is a very clean picnic area and bathrooms open all year round, very clean (as always, depending on who uses them... there are people who do not respect themselves, let alone others). Fortunately, when I go there, everything is perfectly spotless and they even have toilet paper). A place very 'worth' visiting.

A little corner of paradise along the douro!!!Kind staff and I can assure you that your stomach is full!! Typical Portuguese family cuisine.. stop by!! Parking even for CC!!!Nice surprise on the road I recommend 200%GoodAppetite
